PARANORMAL or SCIENCE: MATERNAL IMPRINTING

 PARANORMALorSCIENCE MATERNAL IMPRINTING

RADIO: 99.3FM NIGERIA INFO

HOST: Nelly.K and Eye.K

EPISODE: 20-02-2015

TOPIC: MATERNAL IMPRINTING

The following are my opinion on the 'maternal imprinting' topic. As expected Nelly forwarded quite an excellent intro into a seemingly unusual subject which seems at first [by the mere mentioning of the term 'imprinting'] to only bear correlation with the fantastic idea tailored by Hollywood to fit the fictitious world of a romantic-vampire drama - the 'Twilight Saga' franchise. Yeah...well, whatever. So, what the heck is Imprinting ? Well readers, I'm sure it sounds fringe I ain't gonna google it up yet, from what I listened to 'Imprinting' according to Nelly is any of such idea where one's own semblance is impressed on a child yet unborn (of-course during conception). But rather than her to further stimulate our bewilderment by speculating on those possibilities that might probable give rise to this biological phenomena, she instead invested herself to differentiate between 'her' three types of imprinting with so much head-cracking analyses that I was expecting Eye.K the aNellyzer to simplify it all, well.....not until an epigenetist (or so) called in to shed some clarity on the subject of maternal imprinting 'embryologically speaking'.

In as much as I thoroughly accept the possibility of this 'imprinting' thing, I still think the epigenetist caller offered an opinion which attempted to simplify the bio-technical process involved, but ended up complicating the whole ish. As for me, both in a general and fictional sense I'm guessing the act of imprinting is unconsciously triggered by the child-bearer as a bi-effect of some sort response, while maternal imprinting is almost the same thing but with a little twist that indicates a direct connection between the mother and the fetus. In maternal imprinting, the mother is solely responsible for actualizing the impression on the forming baby as a bi-effect result of some inexplicable projection received externally.

At what developmental stage does the imprinting occurs, nobody knows for certain. But, what I think would be remarkable is to figure out whether this is done involuntarily, mentally or genetically. Unless I am a celluleon with a degree in biochemicalembryogenevolution-bla-bla witnessing how things takes place right there 'In The Womb' I wouldn't know for sure. However, if I am to consider the observable facial feature characteristic to someone related to me, I will be tempted to think it is 'psychosomatic' on the part of a pregnant woman susceptible to this phenom. To get a clear cut idea of what this is - Nelly described an instance of this maternal imprinting, which I hereby re-illustrate hopefully as clear as possible:

Imagine a pregnant woman who is undergoing a series of pressure so immense that in her attempt to psychologically construct a protective mechanism, somehow get to focus her mental energies against a human agent she mentally associates the most emphatic of the pressure with, and as a result - a channel is tri-established between the unborn, the conceiver and that agent of stress which is either a male or female figure (a female in the case of my relative), which she subconsciously attaches to its origin or personifies as its source. The pressure could be, but not limited to environmental and societal factors to a range of family related problems. Psychosomatic synapses is continually stimulated for as long as the presence of the figure is capable of triggering a mental reminder of a traumatic experience or initiate the pressure itself. All these process result to the conception of a child resembling an outsider.
In the fictional world of Twilight, Bella Swan was under so much pressure that Jacob Black despite not having to mate with her was still able to imprint his wolfie feature on the baby she conceived for her fanged husband - Edward Cullen.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...this is definitely going to sound weird for those reading this for the first time. Quite on the contrary, as much as I accept this maternal imprinting to be real (most especially given to the case of my relative), I still however think a lack of scientific validity could be used as an instrument of argument in a court of law to infer some degree of doubtfulness in a case scenario where the 'issue of pregnancy' is disputed on the grounds that 'the child' bears no resemblance whatsoever to the male child-maker. DNA test will resolve that anyways.

NB: Nelly repeated some questions as the discussion progressed on but unknown to her - two of the questions put forth were misplaced. One wrongfully assumed the rational existence of a "human soul" without no hint if the question was been asked from a religious angle. She ought to have known that the idea of a soul is still academically debated among philosophers as an abstract idea worthy of intellectual exploration, by theologians as an immaterial part of beings associated with God and by scientists as an improbable and immeasurable claim with no experimental value. Her other poser reveals her mistaken understanding of the esoteric when she further asserted, by associating DIABOLISM with any metaphysical alternative for child-conception given her usage of the erroneous term "Juju"- a misnomer, which has come to be the umbrella word for all thing malevolence.

I think it's high time Nelly should take into cognizant that - there is a branch of the Yoruba believe system of Ifa called Isegun (the craft of ogun; pronounced differently from Ogun the deity) which solely deals with what for argument sake may be called magic (of the paranormal kind in contrast to the trickery type) but more of what I may call describe as that which give rise to instantaneous cause-and-effect that disobeys natural laws known to science, it is a deviate aspect of Ifa that works as an alternative to the rather slow-working, methodological based solutions from Ifa, although its origin is still founded within the vastness of Ifa esotericsm. Rarely does Ifa recommends it and only in certain specific situations, besides that it is considered to be used only in times of emergency. There are two sides to the craft and manufacture Ogun, it is a topic for another day, perhaps one I might soon be motivated to write if Nelly revisit topics relating to what the whites call black-magic.

Thanks for taking time to read.
